Grady McFerrin
Grady McFerrin lives and works in Brooklyn. Like most of our artists, he had never produced art for wine labels before becoming part of the Bonny Doon fold. Grady has produced several DEWN labels for us as well as the extraordinary Teatro Zinzanni poster. He also contributed to the Exquisite Corpse label for our Primitivo. Marc Chagall would love Grady McFerrin’s stuff.

Ralph Steadman
Ralph Steadman is a very proper, erudite and thoughtful English gentleman who happens to wield the brush as if it were a flame thrower. He may ultimately be single handedly responsible for people forgetting that we make good wine as well as great labels. His work for Bonny Doon includes the labels for Cardinal Zin, Domaines des Blagueurs Syrah-Sirrah, Heart of Darkness and Critique of Pure Riesling. He lives outside London.

Gary Taxali
Gary Taxali lives in Toronto. He is an exceptionally gifted and gentle soul, though his work suggests a man who has been very naughty. The bulk of his work for us has been primarily for labels for our DEWN club wines, though he also was a contributor to the Exquisite Corpse label for our Primitivo.

Annabelle Verhoye
Annabelle Verhoye’s voice was constructed by scientists to make men weep. She also produces exceptionally fine and lithesome chine colle illustrations. Annabelle produced our Viognier Doux label and 2003 holiday card and was also a contributor to the Exquisite Corpse label for our Primitivo.

Tavis Coburn
What might one expect from combining 1940’s hardboiled comic book art, inspiration from the Russian Avant-garde movement, exquisite illustration skills, some high powered computer hardware, and a design sensibility more twisted than a cat’s paw knot? A fire breathing geisha? A Yeti? A komodo dragon? Check out

Monte Gifford
We began our relationship with Monte Gifford ten years ago, when he started designing our packaging and store displays. Due to his sophomoric ‘sensibilities’, everyone here assumed he was on staff. Other than illustrating wine labels, Monte is working on children’s books (in hopes of warping the next generation). He calls the Colorado Rockies his home, where he terroirizes the local fauna.

Mark Burkhardt
Marc Burkhardt lives in Austin, Texas where he’s been commissioned by the eclectic likes of Rolling Stone, Time-Warner, Sony Records, Major League Baseball and more recently Bonny Doon Vineyard. While record covers for Johnny Cash to the creation of Angel Paille, might be a leap for some, for Marc it was just a natural transition. This might be the first showing of Marc’s work at Bonny Doon, but it’s definitely not the last. For more of Marc Burkhardt’s creative expressions, visit
